The National CASA\/GAL Association for Children welcomes Chicago technology executive Kimberly Corley to the board of trustees<\/h2>\n\t\t

Seattle, WA \u2013 The National Court Appointed Special Advocate\/Guardian ad Litem (CASA\/GAL) Association for Children recently elected Kimberly Corley<\/strong> to its board of trustees.<\/p>\n

Corley is a transformational technology leader with an extensive track record of achievement in leading technology organizations. She has more than 25 years of experience in technology with companies such as Deloitte, Ernst & Young, IBM, Allstate and State Farm. She has also been engaged in entrepreneurial ventures, including serving as founder and CEO of an online gift retailer. She is currently senior director of product management at Capital One, where she serves as the strategic technology advisor to human resources executives.<\/p>\n

\u201cKim is an incredible advocate for children, and we are excited to have her join the National CASA\/GAL Association for Children\u2019s board. She brings professional expertise, as well as extensive experience on non-profit boards that support children and youth,\u201d said National CASA\/GAL CEO Tara Lisa Perry. \u201cKim has a passion for and understanding of the work of CASA\/GAL volunteers, having served as one herself. We look forward to her expertise as we continue to enhance the work of our nationwide network of programs to best serve children and families.\u201d<\/p>\n

Corley\u2019s passion for supporting children and youth have led her to serve as a mentor, tutor and youth advocate for the last 20 years. She volunteered as a court appointed special advocate (CASA) in the Washington, D.C. metro area, advocating for children who had experienced abuse or neglect. Corley\u2019s service on non-profit boards includes the Chicago Shelter for Women and Children and the William O. Lockridge Foundation, which is focused on scholarships and college support services for economically disadvantaged students in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018I am because we are\u2019 is an African proverb that has guided my work with under-served youth for many years. I cannot separate my life and my success from their lives and their challenges,\u201d says Corley. \u201cI am compelled to take action and serving on the National CASA\/GAL board is one of the ways I can have a significant impact.\u201d<\/p>\n

She joins the existing National CASA\/GAL Board of Trustees headed by Dr. William Bell, president and CEO of Casey Family Programs.<\/p>\n
