Alicia Lee<\/h2>\n\t\t

\"\"\u201cI value giving back to the organization that has given so much to me,\u201d says Alicia Lee<\/strong>, \u201cwhether that is through my Kappa Alpha Theta volunteer roles or as a CASA volunteer.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was learning about the CASA\/GAL mission as a member of Theta\u2019s Zeta Omicron Chapter at Wake Forest University that made Alicia want to eventually become a child advocate, so she relishes the opportunity to share her experience as a CASA volunteer with Theta collegians and potential new members.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough Kappa Alpha Theta, I\u2019ve interacted and worked with women of all ages and stages of life and career experiences,\u201d she says. \u201cI\u2019ve been able to develop speaking and presentation skills as well as confidence in speaking to strangers, all of which play a role in my responsibility to be the voice for a child in the foster care system.\u201d<\/p>\n

A CASA volunteer in Harris County, Texas, Alicia has served Theta in a number of volunteer roles. She believes her personal ties to Theta and the CASA program mirror the larger ties between the two organizations. \u201cAs Thetas, we\u2019ve been called to spread the widest influence for good and to put aside selfish motives. It\u2019s important for us as an organization to speak for those who do not have a voice.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe time I invest as a CASA volunteer is time I know I am using to change a child\u2019s story. I know time is one of the most valuable things I can give to someone else.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
